Summary of The Absolutely True Diary of A Part-Time Indian

This story is about a boy named Arnold Spirit who lives on an Indian reservation and is fed up with his crappy life on the rez, with his 20 year old math books and the missionary teachers. Arnold chooses to go to a school outside of the rez. and finds that it is the hardest move of his life. He finds himself trying to cope with the hardships of his family members dying and the PURE! white school he needs to navigate.
In this book, I liked the fact that it showed how persistent Arnold was to get a better education and to fit in with his new world. I also liked how the book had cartoons to show a brighter side of the hardships Arnold had to go through.
I learned that it pays of the know who you are no matter how hard it is to get there. It also showed me that there are actually so many choices we have to live with every day.
